Brand & Web Design

Cuyuna Electric and Energy

Cuyuna wanted a unique brand to stand out in the Twin Cities and a web site that showcased their work and their services.

Brand Requirements

The owners requested the following:

  • Vintage and rustic feel to the brand
  • Elements that speak to both energy and electric
  • Stands out among the Twin Cities electricians
  • Logo that can scale large and small

The Brand

My process/thoughts:

  • To achieve the rustic feel, I created a texture to layover the logo and brand elements. This is a vector graphic to ensure scalability with their brand overall.
  • Instead of the bright yellows we keep seeing, we went with a gold/burnt yellow to speak to the electric services and a dark blue to compliment.
  • Their brand pattern was drawn from solar panels - they are pushing their renewable energy services
  • We swapped the lightning bolt for an edison style lightbulb to again speak to the vintage feel of the brand, and to stick out - so many lightning bolts in this field

The owners loved the final brand and requested a few mockups they could utilize for there merchandise and marketing efforts.

Web Design Requirements

Site Specs:

  • They wanted to showcase their services in a clear manner - but had limited content.
  • They wanted a small gallery to showcase their work
  • They required a "quote form" for lead generation
  • Push clients toward their solar energy services

The Final Design

My Process:

  • I made sure the brand was well represented throughout the site - their patterns and textures are utilized so they can make a solid impression on their viewers
  • In order to peak clients interest in solar power, I created a call out section on their homepage that offered strong reasons as to why they should make the move to solar.
  • A quote that showcases their mission was added to their homepage as well to gain trust of potential clients, paired with a satisfied client who reached out for emergency help.
  • Call to Actions through the site guide users to fill out their short quote form - I wanted to keep the form compact so users weren't overwhelmed by a long-form.
  • This site was prototyped in Figma and developed in Webflow
