Process Overview

Brand Evaluation: The logo was created using Canva - it lacked originality and needed to play to their base better. They were also utilizing a lot of different colors that didn't really create a cohesive brand (pink, black, yellow, steel blue, grey). I began by establishing the color palette - yellow, black, steel blue, white. We wanted this brand to be bright and evoke joy and energy. Then I created a logo that was bold. Musicians are bold to begin with, we needed a strong presence to better connect the two. I focused on including the vinyl record into their logo and having their font be bold while incorporating what looks like a music note.

Focus Group: We held a focus group with the current musicians and booking agents that utilize the platform. I put together 25 questions that would help us get a better idea of where exactly this disconnect was happening and how we could best address these issues.

Website Design: Based on the information from the focus group, I created a new website design that addressed the confusion and helped guide users to the accurate subscription for their needs. This was designed initially in Figma and then built in Wordpress using Elementor. We launched an A/B test of my design vs the old design and found a 22.6% increase in conversion (subscribers) in just two weeks.

UX/UI Design: The success of their website and brand relaunch led them to booking me again to redesign the dashboard of the platform and their fan funnel. This I will go over in depth in a separate page - head back to the portfolio page to review this work.

Ideation

As you can see the old brand was no cohesive and the readability was very poor. Their brand recognition was poor due to their lack of direction and their disconnect with their audience made it difficult to convert users into subscribers.

With a complete brand refresh, a website with a strategy, and a new dashboard and fan funnel - TipTree.io finally had the tools they needed to connect to their audience and saw a massive turnaround in their subscribers. This project was a perfect example of what strategy and research can do for an idea.
