Site Review: Shining Star Doodles needed a website overhaul. They were having issues with SEO, ADA Compliance, and Conversion (people filling out applications to adopt). I began this website redesign, by combing through their current site, noting problem areas, user flow issues, broken links, and poor site structure.
Design Ideation: Next, I took my research and applied a new design direction. I adjusted the original color palette so they would meet ADA Compliance contrast ratio standards. I changed the font to improve readability, and I created a wireframe to map out the user flow.
Prototype: Next I designed the interface and created a functioning prototype in Figma. The team at Shining Doodles combed through the prototype and invited family friends to go through the process and note any pit falls. We found the need for a few areas for FAQ's was necessary.
Build: After adjusting the prototype to include multiple areas of FAQs for user, I built the design out in Wordpress using Elementor and optimized for SEO & Mobile Responsiveness.
The previous site shown here depicts readability issues and user-flow issues. The overall structure of the site confused users which lead to a high bounce rate. Additionally, the previous site contained paragraphs of content which overwhelmed users and also lead to them navigating away from the site.
This new site launched in September of 2025. So far one of the litters has been fully adopted and they are showing a high number of applicants for the remaining litters. The stats will be in in November.
