Brand & Site Review: I began this process by evaluating their current brand and website. I looked at current branding trends that would relate them to their audience better, user frustrations in their website that likely lead to a higher bounce rate, and accessibility issues that could open them up to a suit.
Design Ideation: The next stage was to sketch out a few ideas for their upgraded look. The first adjustment needed was their color palette. It was a bit lack-lust and lead to contrast issues on their website. I upgraded their palette and ensured it adheres to accessibility requirements. I recreated their logo icon by simplifying it and focusing on the readability. Lastly, I rounded off their new design with a few patterns and animated icons.
Prototype: Next, I prototyped their website in Figma. After reviewing their site I found a number of user frustrations. There was a lack of complete information that left users without their questions answered and the navigation didn't guide users through the site. The prototype focused on a solid user flow and building out content that would immediately answer user questions and entice them to click through.
Build: This client had me build their site in Wordpress using the Divi builder.
The previous site lacked solid readability, the overall structure confused users, the site structure itself wasn't utilizing keywords properly for search engine optimization purposes, and it lacked content and originality. The brand's colors needed a refresh and so did the logo icon.
This upgrade helped with their conversion rate and helped them better connect with their audiences. Tracy was so happy with the upgrades to her site that she decided to sign on for a retainer with me and I white-label projects for her to this day.
